Gray's Creek Facts

Congrats, you showed up.
§ Corrections

If we got it wrong, we want to know.

Every claim on this site is meant to be accurate and sourced. When something isn't, tell us, and we fix it in the open.

This site only works if people can trust it. So our standard is simple: everything is sourced, and anything shown to be wrong gets corrected quickly and visibly.

Our accuracy standard

Every factual claim on Gray's Creek Facts is tied to the petitioners' own published materials, North Carolina statute, US Census data, or Cumberland County records. Where we quote, we quote exactly and link the source. Where we paraphrase, we paraphrase fairly. Where something is our opinion or an inference, we say so rather than dress it up as fact.

We take particular care not to state or imply a position for any public official who has not stated one. Being listed as a speaker at a meeting, or holding an office, is not a position on incorporation, and we do not present it as one.

How to report an error

If you believe something here is inaccurate, incomplete, or unfair, tell us. Please include, if you can:

  • The page and the specific sentence or claim.
  • What is wrong with it.
  • A source or document we can check, if you have one.

Email facts@grayscreekfacts.com, or use the Ask form. You do not have to give your name to report an error.

What happens next

  • We review every good-faith correction request.
  • If a claim is wrong, we fix or remove it, usually within 48 hours of confirming the error.
  • Substantive corrections are noted and dated in our updates, so the change is on the record rather than made quietly.
  • If we look into it and believe the claim is accurate, we will explain why, and point you to the source.

Requests to remove personal information

If your concern is about your own name or personal information appearing on the site, we handle that the same way and just as fast. See our privacy page, or email us and we will remove it.

The goal is not to win an argument by being loud. It is to be right, and to be correctable when we're not.
